I've never knit a hat before, and I'm really nervous about it. Does anyone have any recommendations for a beginner hat? Maybe felted?

Knitpicks has a new hat design that sounded pretty fun. Just knit, it's man sized... felted up, it's sized for a woman's head, and looks completely different (mostly because you no longer fold it up). The website doesn't show the hat ON someone, but they did in the print catalog, and it was rather cute, IMO.

there is also a nice hat pattern from fibertrends that can be felted. another nice design is the leaf lace scarf and hat set at www.figheadh.com.
There is a hat KAL at http://hatalong.blogspot.com. There are some links to free hat patterns on that site, plus the KALers also make some original hats and they usually post the patterns.
