picking a pattern
At this time I have the patterns narrowed down to two-
A cable scarf pattern from Crystal Palace Yarns-
Or the Besotted Scarf from Hello Yarn-
I'm trying both out with some stash yarn I have laying around while I wait for my yarn to come.

I really like the cable scarves in the first photo.
I adore the crystal palace cable pattern! I'll have to do one for myself after I finish up on my pal's scarf.
They are both lovely, they look really snug and warm
I'd go with the Crystal Palace pattern. It's gorgeous and I want one for myself. I almost chose to make it for this exchange but I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it in time.
They both look like great scarves! I would go with Crystal Palace cable pattern if there's any chance that your knitee would find the x's and o's too cutesy. I love Besotted, though, so if I just happen to be your knitee (tee hee, probably not but you never know), go with it!
I am doing the Crystal Palace pattern too! I am doing a solid yarn, since that is my pal's preference. Its my first cabling project and the wool should be in my mail box tonight.
I can't wait to see how yours turns out!
