Oh dear

I thought I had the perfect pattern, I thought I had the perfect yarn and so I started. I was doing really well. I was keeping track of where I was in the 40 row pattern. And then it happened, I started with the wrong row. So now I have to rip out 17 rows.

Oh dear.

But on the bright side, the wool looks luscious and really shows the pattern. Can't wait till it's finished and I can send it to my pal.

Oh, No, Vicki! I feel for you--been there, done that, no fun and discouraging. Have you discovered lifelines yet? It really helps if you put in a lifeline every 5 rows or so. You can use thin cotton embroidery thread on a darning needle, and just run the thread through the last row you knitted. Or, even easier to me--get some dental floss made for bridgework--it has a stiff "needle" on one end, attached to the floss, and you can poke it through fairly easy. Though this can be a pain in the butt a bit, it sure can save a multitude of tears. Good luck, and don't get discouraged. The lace scarf I'm doing has a 24 row repeat, so I'm using lifelines to be sure I don't have to tink and frog.

Oh the horror! I had to rip back 4 repeats (in a 12 row patter) and I nearly cried. It happens to the best of us, I guess. Good luck with the rest of it. Looking forward to seeing pictures!

Ouch!! I feel for you. I get scared away from a stitch pattern that is more than 20 rows.
