Off to the Races
I've been in contact with both my pal and the person I'm knitting for and I am so ready for some scarfage! I decided on Inner Truth, a Magknits scarf pattern. Here it is after 6 and a half repeats:
I like this pattern a lot. It's pretty and not too hard to remember. That's a good thing when you're losing brain cells as fast as I am!

Love the scarf. When I saw the pattern on Magknits, I wasn't too inspired by the colour but yours looks great! May have to give that one a shot.
Lovely, Mia!
Love the color and the pattern! Wish I'd found this pattern!
It looks really comfy. Nice choices!
I started this pattern too, in a burnt orange alpaca. Not sure if it will be for my pal or for me - it looks great in solid colors too.
Please please please tell me what yarn you are using? I'm think i'm in love!!!
Absolutely beautiful! I'm going to put that pattern on my to-knit list. It looks so warm and cozy.
I'm using Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool, which I dyed with icing dye. It's only moderately soft, and it's handwash only, but the colors seemed perfect for my scarf recipient.
I have to agree with Craftybernie...the pattern on Magknits wasn't too inspiring, but your yarn choice is great. What kind is it?
Mia, You did a lovely job of dyeing! I bought some iceing dye when it was on sale - do you do it the same way you do kool-aid dyeieng?
Thanks, Iris! I did use the kool aid in big kettles method. I'm new to dyeing and this yarn was just a happy accident. I had intended to make a black and blue colorway, using what I had on hand: black icing dye and blue kool aid. But during the process, the black dye broke into hunter green and dark purple, and this is the result.
What a happy "accident"!
