International Scarf Exchange

So, I've found the yarn to use for the scarf I'm going to do for my pal...but I still can't find a hat pattern or yarn that I like and that isn't too difficult for me as a beginner hat knitter.

Ugh! This is frustrating!

Cecily, I live in Chesterfield, I see you go to Wash U, and I'd really be happy to help you. Either to find a pattern that suits your skills, and/or to help you if you run into challenges while knitting up the pattern you choose. There's a group of 20 somethings that meet at Borders at Olive and New Ballas on Sundays around 5:30 - 6:00, and they let me join them to sit around and stitch and chat. I could meet you there earlier on Sunday, then you could join the knitting and get started, if that works with your schedule, or I could also meet you at one of the LYS another time.
I also know that Nancy at Myers House has a group that meets up there Tuesday evenings that are mostly beginner knitters, and they just have an informal knit-in and get help if they need it - not so much a formal class as a SnB.
email me at mlweaving at earthlink dot net
I think it's great that as a newer knitter you joined the exchange. ;)

Marji, I've emailed you...

Cyn...I bought sockweight yarn with pinks, purples and greys...and I want to do the hat in purple, I know that much. Past that, I've got not a clue.
