Softest Yarn Ever?
I got the yarn for my pal's scarf... and I have to say, I am tempted to keep it myself! It is so beautiful! It is Malabrigo kettle-dyed merino wool from Uruguay, in the "Forest" colorway.
It is not quite what I was expecting, however... the color is off from the photo on Kaleidoscope Yarns, but it is still my pal's favorite color, so I think it will work nicely.
Do you think she will like it? :)

I think your pal will love it! Malabrigo is heavenly. I think every batch of Malabrigo comes out VERY differently, so Kaleidoscope may have had a perfectly reasonable picture of the Forest yarn that they had at the time. I definitely keep a couple skeins going at once when I knit with Malabrigo.
I think she will love it, too. Gorgeous choice!
