Scarf is almost complete
I think that I have never been so excited to knit something for someone else before.
I am still thinking of the best hat to go with the scarf. I need to ask if people would be disappointed if they received a head band instead of a hat? Give me your thoughts! Thanks

I don't know that I'm qualified to answer as I am doing the scarf only, but... I personally would prefer a headband to a hat. When skiing I wear headbands unless it is blizzard conditions, and I like headbands.
Why not ask your secret pal what her preference may be. Just don't spoil the surprise - use an anonymous email address or ask the hostessess to ask for you.
Just answering for myself, so take it for what it's worth, I wouldn't mind a headband. I don't currently have any, but I do like how they look.
I prefer headbands, but only because I look stupid in a hat.
