blocking question disguised as update.
I have finished my scarf finally and I have never blocked anything. Any suggestions? Do I need to block? I have only been knitting since October, co I am not sure if it would be better to send it to my pal unblocked. I have ideas about how to do it, but it is about 6 feet long so I am not sure where to do it.

I would say it depends on the stitch pattern and/or evenness of your knitting. I block scarves when it is stockinette or if my tension isn't even through out.
Since it is so long, you may want to try steam blocking - Knitty.com - To Block or Not to Block. I have a patient husband, so I do this on the dining room table with towels.
