I started knitting my pal's scarf. It wasn't wide enough. I added more repeats and it was too wide. I changed needle sizes and the number of repeats. Too wide, too loose. Switched back to original needles and made fewer repeats. Got it right and was happy. Three inches later I noticed mistakes in the row a half inch from the cast on. Tried again and now I've got 4 inches done. Maybe I shouldn't have started the scarf after 11pm.
